About
Robert founded Eumetix to do data engineering consultancy the way it should be done: direct relationships, open standards, no lock-in. He has spent his career in the unglamorous but essential work of making data move reliably — from legacy middleware at a city government to complex ETL modernisation for some of the largest financial institutions in the US. He has led teams, built practices, and delivered end-to-end platforms across financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and life sciences. He holds certifications across Talend, Qlik, Informatica, and Snowflake, and is the author of the STRATA data engineering methodology.

Built a complete Talend Cloud data integration capability from zero — infrastructure, standards, CI/CD, and delivery practices — enabling the client’s first modern ETL platform.
Modernised the ETL backbone of the world’s largest single MS SQL Server installation for a Fortune 50 firm, introducing AWS Glue and Apache Airflow as the path forward.
Replaced an entire MuleSoft integration estate with Talend Data Fabric, leading an 8-person team through full-lifecycle re-delivery of batch and event-driven pipelines.
Proved viability of a terabyte-scale Kimball EDW for HIPAA-protected data on Azure Synapse and Talend; findings shaped the client’s long-term data warehouse strategy.
